Welcome back to Art with Miss Kassee! 🎨 In this Classical Conversations Cycle 3 Week 3 art lesson, we're taking the drawing and shading skills we've been practicing and using them to create 3D forms! We'll begin with four basic forms—a cube, sphere, pyramid, and cylinder—and learn how light and shadow help make a flat drawing look three-dimensional. Miss Kassee demonstrates several shading techniques, including hatching, cross-hatching, curved lines, and scribbling. We'll also learn how the direction of a light source affects the highlights, shadows, and cast shadows on an object. Then we'll take things one step further! Basic forms can be combined to help us understand much more complicated things. Break it into basic shapes and forms, draw what you see, and then use your shading and OiLS elements to give it dimension.
