GTFD on the back 4 of this ultra-tricky but brilliant sounding peal of ten, all cast by Gillett & Johnston in 1930.
One of only three Catholic towers in Ireland (and holding the heaviest bells of those three), the Immaculate Conception is one of Wexford's famous twin churches. The other church on Bride Street has no bells.
This tower had interesting multicolour sallies...
The front 6 were purple with yellow,
the 7 & 8 were red white & blue,
the 9 (my favourite one) was white, blue and black,
and the tenor was white, yellow and blue!
This is the heaviest bell I've lowered to date. Just wish the whole thing sounded good (listen from 0:35 to 1:00!)
Recorded Saturday, July 14th 2018, at the end of our District Practice.
