【世界遺産】日本最古の神社「花の窟」【三重県熊野市】

【花の窟】 日本最古の神社といわれる花の窟をご紹介します。 ー花の窟ー 花の窟（はなのいわや）は、日本最古の歴史書といわれる日本書紀にも記されており、日本最古の神社と伝えられています。 その由緒は神々の母・伊弉冊尊（イザナミノミコト）を祀る御葬所で、季節の花を供え飾って尊を祀ったことから、花窟という社号が付けられたと考えられています。 花の窟には古来から社殿がなく、熊野灘に面した高さ45mもの巨大な磐座を御神体とし、参拝者はご神体に直接触れることができる珍しい神社です。 また、毎年2月2日と10月2日には例大祭が執り行われ、地元の方々が綯った約170mの大綱をご神体の上から境内南隅に掛ける壮大なお綱掛け神事は、三重県の無形民俗文化財に指定されています。 https://hananoiwaya.com/hananoiwaya/i... ーHananoiwayaー "Hana no iwaya" is the gigantic rock and is referred to in the oldest Japanese history book as the tomb and shrine of goddess, "Izanami no Mikoto (伊弉冊尊)", who created the country. People have worshiped her and they have a festival twice a year without cessation; praying for a good harvest on the 2nd of February, and giving thanks on the 2nd of October. "Hana no iwaya" means flower rock in Japanese and it was named after the custom where people would carry seasonal flowers when they went to pray there.
