REPENTANCE | THY KINGDOM COME SERIES From the moment Jesus began His ministry, His message was clear: "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). In this teaching, we explore why repentance is the pathway to reconciliation with God, and why, as followers of Christ, we're called to carry that same message to the world as ambassadors for Him (2 Corinthians 5:20). We're currently in the Biblical month of Elul (the 6th month), which corresponds to September (the 9th month) on the Gregorian calendar. Elul is traditionally a season of repentance, 40 days set apart to examine our lives, search our hearts, and turn back to the Lord before the Holy Days ahead. The King is in the field, that God draws near to His people, walking among them, ready to hear every prayer and receive every act of repentance. Now is the time to return to Him: to confess, to turn from our wicked ways, and to walk in His ways once more. When we return to Him, He returns to us.
