2027 BMW M350 vs Audi RS 5 Sedan - Comparison Visual Driving, Sound, Exterior & Interior Design
The BMW 3 Series has embodied driving pleasure with a clear sporting character, distinctive design and unrelenting technical progress. Representing a technological leap forward, the new BMW 3 Series extends their story into a new era.
The new BMW M350 xDrive is the combustion-engine flagship of the BMW 3 Series range, elevating BMW’s six-cylinder in-line engines to a new level of perfection. Under the bonnet of the BMW M350 xDrive is a 3.0-litre petrol unit that benefits from a 48V mild hybrid system complete with crankshaft-driven starter generator and develops maximum output of 326 kW/443 hp. As its performance attributes underscore in compelling style, the new BMW M350 xDrive marks the entry point into the world of BMW M. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds on its way to an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
The high-performance PHEV is the first production RS model to feature a modular electrified powertrain: quattro with Dynamic Torque Control. At its heart are an improved 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 375 kW or 503 Hp, 600 Nm of torque and an electric motor with 130 kW (174 Hp), 460 Nm deliver an impressive system output of 470 kW or 630 Hp and 825 Nm of torque. The hybridized eight-speed gearbox, and a completely new rear transaxle with electro mechanical torque vectoring – a world first in a production model. An actuator, overdrive gears, and a differential combine to intelligently transfer torque between the rear wheels.
The electric motor and the 400-volt electrical system are powered by a battery with a capacity of 25.9 kWh (22 kWh net) and form the basis for electric propulsion in the RS 5. They contribute to acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 3.6 seconds. The electrical system furthermore plays a key role in torque distribution via electro mechanical torque vectoring – the defining feature of quattro with Dynamic Torque Control. The Audi RS 5 also boasts an all-electric range of up to 84 kilometers (EAER) - up to 87 kilometers in the city.
Using three-phase alternating current (AC), the potent plug-in hybrid charges at up to 11 kW, meaning the high-voltage battery is charged to 100 percent in just 2.5 hours.
