5 Years With My 6.2L Sierra: Why the 2027 Can Wait

More than five years after buying my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4, the factory warranty has expired—but am I ready to replace it? In this video, I give my 6.2L Sierra an honest long-term ownership and modification update. It remains a relatively low-mileage truck, it doesn’t appear to consume oil between changes, and the biggest repair so far hasn’t involved the engine. It was the replacement of the CV axles—something I believe was connected to the altered angles created by leveling the truck. I also walk around the build and share how the major modifications have held up, including: • Wheels, tires and spacers • Bilstein front level and upper control arms • Air Lift airbags and WirelessOne compressor • EGR RollTrac bed cover • Kuat IBEX rack • DV8 bumpers and winch • Light bars and auxiliary lighting • Upgraded infotainment screens With the 2027 Sierra and Silverado now entering the conversation, I also explain why I’m not replacing this truck yet. The newer half-tons haven’t given me a strong enough reason to start over, although the Sierra HD AT4X still has my attention. For now, I’m keeping the 2021—and some significant changes are already being planned for the next chapter of this build.
