The Appearing of Jesus Christ | A. W. Tozer on 1 Peter | Episode 07 [Remastered]

Jesus is coming… are you ready? In this seventh message from his series on 1 Peter, A. W. Tozer examines the words “at the appearing of Jesus Christ” and directs our attention to the certainty of our Lord’s personal, visible return. With his characteristic directness, Tozer challenges the fascination with prophetic speculation that leaves our lives unchanged. Drawing on Peter, Paul and John, he shows how the hope of Christ’s appearing should produce perseverance, faithful service and holiness. The question is not simply whether we believe that Jesus will return, but whether we love His appearing and are preparing to meet Him. In This Message: • What Peter means by the “appearing” of Jesus Christ. • Why Christ’s return is a personal, visible appearing. • The danger of forcing elaborate prophetic schemes onto Scripture. • How the hope of Christ’s return strengthens believers through trials. • The crown of righteousness promised to those who love His appearing. • Why everyone who has this hope purifies himself, even as Christ is pure.
