Revival - Towards Revival | Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones | Part 12

Can a church be busy, apparently successful, and yet lack the experienced presence of God? In the twelfth sermon of his Revival series, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones turns to Exodus 33:1-11. Following Israel’s worship of the golden calf, God tells Moses to lead the people into the promised land - but declares that He will not go among them. The people mourn. Even the prospect of victory and a land flowing with milk and honey cannot compensate for the loss of God’s presence. Lloyd-Jones traces the first steps towards revival: honestly recognising our spiritual condition, experiencing godly sorrow over sin, and demonstrating repentance through practical obedience. He challenges Christians to examine themselves by Scripture rather than finding reassurance in meetings, activities, finances or outward results. Genuine repentance reaches beyond regret: it means forsaking whatever stands between us and God. This searching message asks whether we are content with His blessings or truly long to know God Himself.
