When you hear the words 'single malt' where are you transported too? More than likely Scotland comes to mind, then possibly Ireland but it's unlikely your first thought would be America. Obviously Bourbon and Rye are a dominant force in the American whiskey industry but many new producers in the US are looking across the pond for inspiration and have made Single Malt their whiskey product of choice. Having been surrounded by what many perceive to be the best single malt whiskies during my time in Ireland I'm fascinated to see what the New World has to offer and I'm starting that journey off with something from Stranahan's, one of the pioneers of the American Single Malt category.
