Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation: Measuring Radiation

When we talk about radiation, we often talk about two things: 1) How much object radiation energy are we exposed to? and 2) How harmful is that radiation to biological systems? These distinctions are addressed through four main concepts: A) Exposure, B) Absorbed dose, C) Relative Biological Effectiveness, and D) Biological Equivalent Dose. In this video we discuss each of these concepts and explore how they are distinct from each other.
