In 1976, a school bus driver in a small Ohio farm town found an unsigned letter in her post. It knew where she lived. Soon nearly everyone in town had one. For almost twenty years, someone wrote down the town's secrets, and some of them turned out to be true. Then a gun was found behind a sign on her bus route, and a man went to prison. The letters kept coming.
This is the story of the Circleville letters.

What the video leaves out: the sources differ on small points (the month of Ron's death; whether the experts said the handwriting "could be" his, was "inconclusive", or matched). Ron's blood alcohol was reported as over the limit; the video says only that the sheriff believed he had been drinking. The "no pen and no paper" rule comes from one account (the warden, on 48 Hours). The fingerprints on letters posted while Paul was in prison come from one investigator's work for 48 Hours and are not explained. Paul Freshour was convicted of attempted murder for the gun on the post; nobody was ever charged for the letters. The police consider the case closed.
