He didn’t just watch a game; he lived it. Even now, if I close my eyes, I can still hear his voice echoing through the house, hollering at the TV during the World Series, March Madness, or the Superbowl, completely swept up in the energy, the passion, and the pure joy of the game. When it came to writing this song, that was the exact heartbeat I wanted to capture. Mark understood that sports are about more than just points on a scoreboard—they are about dedication, resilience, teamwork, and a fire that drives you to give everything you have. This song is a reflection of that high-energy, unapologetic passion. It weaves together the grit of the diamond with the unshakeable faith that anchored us through every season of life. I wanted to create something that feels like a classic walk-up anthem—something bold, motivational, and deeply rooted in faith—built on the legacy of the man who cheered loudly, loved deeply, and left an unforgettable echo in our hearts. March 31, 2022 was the day we learned that Mark had advanced stage Colon Cancer. Nothing truly prepares you for such devastating news. But, even in the sadness and uncertainty of that moment, we thought that things would be alright. Little did we know that just a year later God would call him home. Mark did not “lose” his battle with Cancer. He knew Jesus. He is no longer this side of Heaven, but he won. He gets to be face-to-face with the ultimate healer. I hope when you hear this song you feel that same fire that he had, look up at the stands, and remember to give your all to the game and, most importantly, to the One who gave us the strength to play.
