My Last Day as an Appalachian Trail Ridgerunner

After three months of serving as a Ridgerunner on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia, this is my very last day (and week) on patrol. It’s bittersweet—part farewell, part celebration, and part reflection on everything I’ve experienced out here. From meeting hikers to facing storms alone in the backcountry, ridgerunning has changed the way I see the trail and myself.
