“Winter’s Price” is a mythic character study inspired by BBC’s *Sherlock*, using Winter, Fire, Ice, and Hestia as symbols for the conflict between Sherlock Holmes’s brilliant mind and the parts of himself he keeps outside its walls. A song about intellect, isolation, restless purpose, vulnerability, and whether sanctuary can become a home without ceasing to be a fortress. Inspired by BBC’s *Sherlock*. #Sherlock #BBCSherlock #SherlockHolmes #FanSong #CinematicMusic #CharacterStudy #MythicBallad #WintersPrice Lyrics were written by me and Suno turned it into a song. Verse 1: Winter sits alone in throne of sanctuary for a home. Winds ebb around the throne to the watcher known. Fire burns in hearth shunned for so long. Confused for the noise of the throng. Ice and fire in battle drawn by Winter’s sage decree, yet it is good for thee? Chorus: In the night when the world hides from sight. Shadows creep upon you igniting winds that roar and moan. Lack of flame is why their cries rang. Yet Ice would be thy only domain. Oh, Winter shun not the soul within, what trial has made this thy will? Look again and tell me true if Hestia has no due. Verse 2: There sit flames that wait for thee, yet Winter turns his gaze. Purpose is the king and curiosity the knight of soul’s flight. Hollow days that bring restless ways. Drive you to and fro, ever far from peace to roam. Ice with fire sure can dwell. Has never one dared thee to tell? That peace is not the absence of thoughts’ sanctity within. Just the safety to follow her winding path far from screeching din. Verse 3: Fire waits for you, no price to her is due. Twain bound as one to the world shall secrets be found. Ice to take the strands and Fire to tell thee why. One the path to show and with the flame strength is bound. Ever forward winds push you ever to go. Look and turn not gaze away unless the price you are willing to pay. Life where boredom crashes in waves when the king is far from the realm. Is the price of Ice alone found inside your home. Perhaps to you a better way might be known.
