Murder at the Vicarage -Ep. 1 -Setting the stage, and some juicy local gossip

Note - You can read this as well as other posts here (https://ravensview.substack.com/) . Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Welcome to Raven’s Readings. And welcome to Murder at the Vicarage, written by Agatha Christie in 1930. This novel introduces Christie’s famous sleuth, Miss Marple, a sharp-witted amateur in a small, close-knit community. I’ll be trying longer episodes for this novel, 45 minutes or so, grouping a series of chapters around an overall theme. Let me know if you prefer this. There are also several maps in the text – I’ll post them to the relevant episode intros on SubStack. This one includes a map of the vicarage and its grounds. I do readings twice a week, from various classics. If you subscribe to my free Substack newsletter at ravensview.substack.com, you’ll get notified of the next episode and can leave your comments or suggestions. And perhaps also browse my Flash Fiction writings or musings on the world. Let’s get into episode 1—setting the stage and learning some good local gossip.
