10 MUST KNOW CAPOEIRA Portuguese Words: (BEGINNER LEVEL)

What's up galera! Did you just start training Capoeira and are confused by some of the Brazilian Portuguese? Not to worry Uncle O Rei has got your back. These 10 words and phrases(more like 14) will get you through training and slanging. The first thing you need to know is Galera. I say it all the time in my videos and emails. It means "everyone" or "gang". LIke what's up, everyone? Then take a look at the rest here. You can read the full blog for an explanation on the usage. 1. Galera=gang, everyone, (a group of people) 2. Jogar=to play, variations are "jogo", "joga", and "jogou" 3. Esquiva=to dodge. This can mean any of your dodges 4. Chutar=to kick 5. Cantar=to sing 6. Canção=a song. Variations are Musica(s), canto, canções 7. Rapaz=young man, dude. Variations Rapaziada (young group) 8. Moleque=kid, punk, know it all young person 9. Moço=young man. Moça=young woman 10.Tocar=to play a musical instrument (to touch) 11.Base=base or parallel position 12. Cadeira=chair or base/parallel posiiton 13. Simbora=Vamos emobora=bora=Let's go (Let's do it) 14. Past tense versions of verbs mean hurry up and do it...ha!
