Only One Plant Died… So I Bought Four More 😂🌱

I left over 600 houseplants during a two-week holiday, right in the middle of a heatwave. Somehow, I returned home to only one casualty. Naturally, I used that as an excuse to replace the plant and order several more rare and unusual plants at the same time. In this plant unboxing, I’m opening a very mixed selection of tropical houseplants, strange succulents and exotic garden plants, including one plant I’ve wanted for several years. The plants featured are: Gloriosa superba ‘Rothschildiana’, also known as the glory lily, with spectacular flowers and unusual leaf tips that curl into tendrils and help the plant climb. Radermachera sinica ‘Golden’, the golden China doll plant I bought to replace the very crispy plant I accidentally left off my holiday watering list. Albizia julibrissin ‘Summer Chocolate’, a dark-leaved mimosa tree with delicate foliage that closes at night and produces fluffy pink flowers as it matures. Cissus quadrangularis, an incredibly strange climbing plant with thick, square stems that look unlike almost anything else in my collection. Agave potatorum ‘Ouji-Raijin’ variegated, a compact variegated agave that will be growing in one of my brightest south-facing windows. I’ll also show you exactly what happened to my original golden China doll plant after it went for two weeks without water during the heatwave. The roots may still be alive, so it might not be completely finished yet, but I wasn’t willing to risk losing the chance to replace such an unusual plant. There is also plenty of plant collector logic, questionable self-control, heatwave frustration and excitement over stems that happen to be square.
