Webinar 16: Extreme Heat and Its Effect on Chronic Conditions

Gredia Huerta, MD, described the physiological mechanisms by which extreme heat destabilizes chronic diseases, identified chronic diseases and patient populations at greater risk during heat events, and presented evidence-based clinical and preventive strategies to protect vulnerable patients. She also described adaptations needed to protect the health of patients with chronic diseases from extreme heat.
