The following presentation was given during I2KxBINA's 2026 Community Congress: Cultivating the Multiscale Imaging Frontier. John Bogovic - Your Friendly Fiji users guide to N5 and OME-Zarr This workshop will demonstrate Fiji tools to read and write chunked file formats (HDF5, N5, and OME-Zarr). We will learn to import and export images with ImageJ's user-interface, and how to visualize large with BigDataViewer. Beyond the basics, participants will learn common jargon ("chunk", "block", "shard"), best practices for chunk size and compression, how metadata standards enable interoperability across tools, and how to integrate these formats into imaging workflows.
