Red Alert 2 (CnCNet) | U5 | Extra Hard AI Original Name: | U5 Link of Map: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aBAL... A. Map name: | U5 B. Game mode: Standard C. Number of players: 8 (1 human vs 7 AI) D. Map size: 101 × 154 (Very Large) E. Author: Unknown F. Type: Snow / Winter Land Map G. Theme: Snow-covered wilderness with frozen/icy terrain, river channels, roads and scattered structures H. Play Style: 8-player Free-for-All / Competitive Ground Combat 👉 This is a large 8-player snowy battlefield with a river dividing the map into northern and southern combat zones. It emphasizes expansion, resource control, multiple attack routes, and fighting for the central crossings. ________________________________________ Map Layout Overview 1. Two Major Zones • Northern Zone – Players 5, 6 and 7 occupy the upper portion, with Player 1 positioned toward the northwest/upper-middle area. • Southern Zone – Players 2, 3, 4 and 8 are spread across the lower half of the map. • Central River Zone – A winding river separates much of the northern and southern territory, creating natural chokepoints and important crossing areas. This area favors: • Defensive play around the river and narrow crossings. • Long-range engagements because open snowy terrain provides relatively few obstacles. • Aggressive expansion toward central ore fields and enemy territory. ________________________________________ 2. Player Starting Positions • North: Players 5, 6 and 7, with Player 1 slightly farther toward the northwest/center. • South: Players 2, 3, 4 and 8 are distributed across the lower half. • Player 6 appears close to the upper-center area, making the central region particularly important for early expansion and potential attacks. ________________________________________ 3. Resource Distribution (Yellow Ore Fields) • Yellow ore is spread throughout the map, with many fields positioned around the players rather than concentrated in only one location. • Several large ore concentrations appear around the central and eastern areas, encouraging players to move away from their starting positions. • Players who control the central resources and river crossings can gain a significant economic advantage. ________________________________________ Gameplay Flow Early Game • Players should immediately establish their ore/refinery economy because the map provides several nearby yellow-ore fields. • Initial scouting is important because opponents are positioned on both sides of the river. • Securing nearby chokepoints and crossing routes can prevent early enemy pressure. ________________________________________ Mid Game • Combat increasingly moves toward the central river and major resource fields. • Players can attack from multiple directions, making a single defensive line difficult to maintain. • Expanding toward central ore gives stronger economies but also exposes players to attacks from neighboring opponents. ________________________________________ Late Game • The battle can become a large-scale multi-front conflict, especially when players break through the central area. • Controlling the remaining ore fields becomes increasingly important as starting resources are exhausted. • Players with strong production and control of the river crossings can launch attacks into the opposite half of the map. ________________________________________ 👉 Overall pace: Medium–Fast — The large map gives players room to develop their bases, but the central river, abundant yellow ore, and 8-player layout eventually create intense multi-directional battles.
