The Clock Tower Above the Frozen Courtyard | Winter Dark Academia for Deep Study & Writing

One desk beneath the turning gears of the clock tower, four floors above the frozen courtyard. Three hours of piano, cello and strings for deep study and long writing sessions. Candlemas College is an old university, snowed in for the winter. Everyone has gone home. You stayed. An oil lamp. A cup gone half cold. Frost on the arched window. The clock is right above you now — it sounds once at the first hour, and once again at the second. Below, the courtyard lies white and empty under the snow. · · · THIS SESSION — THE CLOCK TOWER Felt piano, solo cello and a small string ensemble, with a music box near the end. Sparse solo piano as you settle in. Cello and strings through the deep middle hours. Then back to a single piano, and the music box as the last of it goes out. · · · HOW TO LISTEN Headphones or low volume in a quiet room. Set it running and leave it. Nothing here asks for your attention — it is made to sit underneath the work, not in front of it. · · · CANDLEMAS COLLEGE One building, one winter, a different room each night — the library, the reading room, the clock tower, the empty dormitory. ▶ All sessions:    • Candlemas College — Winter Sessions | Dark...   New rooms every Thursday.
