A Day In The Life Of Werner Bronkhorst

In this video, I'm sharing a fairly typical day in my life as an artist and dad of two living and working in Sydney, Australia. Being a full-time artist involves a lot more than just making artworks, but I try to spend as much time in the studio painting as possible. Like most self-employed creatives, my days end up being a mix of studio work, admin, planning, meetings, and trying to find a balance between work and family life (along with the occasional swim). This video is a look at what that actually looks like on an ordinary and productive Tuesday. I always enjoy seeing how other artists structure their time and creative practice, so I thought I'd share a bit of my own routine and give you a glimpse behind the scenes. One thing you'll notice throughout the video is my fascination with time. I'm a big believer in tracking how I spend my days, and I keep detailed records of the hours that go into each artwork, project, and task. It's one of the reasons I love watches - not just as beautiful objects, but as practical tools that help me stay aware of where my time is going. At the end of each day, I record everything on my provenance note cards, creating a running record of both my work and life as an artist. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
