Sitia, Crete's East Coast hidden gem

One of Crete’s lesser known towns amongst tourist, its slow pace of life, low key vibe quickly draws you in to experiencing life as a local and it’s not long before you become one either. Join us as we really slow down the pace and spend our days enjoying coffee overlooking the harbour, indulging in delicious Greek cuisine and having lazy days on the beach. Oh we did do a couple of days exploring the surrounding area to check out a small but famous monastery and some beaches. Toplou Monastery: this tiny monastery is not only impressive with its stunning buildings and frescoes but its significance with both the history and modern day life of Crete. It is also known for producing some award winning wine (so keep an eye out for it when next buying) and is situated as well as owns (60,000 acres) some of Crete’s most untouched and wild landscape which for a small fee for parking you can enjoy a day at one of the stunning beaches in Crete’s less travelled East coast.
