Penn State offensive coordinator Taylor Mouser opens up about the Nittany Lions' offensive struggles and reveals what changed during the bye week before Penn State's win over Purdue.
Mouser admits he was "desperate" to fix the offense after a difficult stretch and explains how the pressure of not meeting Penn State's standards affected him personally.
He breaks down the decision to simplify the running game, challenge the offensive line and running backs to become more physical, and spend extensive practice time working on double-team blocking.
Mouser also discusses Cam Wallace and Carson Hansen's breakout performances, Penn State's aggressive fourth-down approach, and how the offense controlled possession for approximately 43 minutes against Purdue.
Plus, Mouser explains how the offense adjusted without Chase Sowell and Koby Howard, why Penn State used Audavion Collins on offense, and how the Nittany Lions can build on their improved rushing attack.
Other topics include Rocco Becht, Penn State's red-zone improvement, the successful fake field goal, offensive wristbands, and the development of Penn State's young players.
Watch Taylor Mouser's full press conference for the latest Penn State football news, offensive analysis, and behind-the-scenes insight following the Purdue win.
