Christ Is My Righteousness | Identity in Christ – Sermon 5 | Pastor Marco Guzmán

CHRIST IS MY RIGHTEOUSNESS | IDENTITY IN CHRIST – SERMON 5 What makes us right with God? Is it our good works, our religious efforts, or something greater? Many people spend their lives trying to earn God's approval, carrying the weight of past failures or believing they must become good enough to be accepted by Him. But the Gospel gives us a different answer: our righteousness is found in Jesus Christ, not in ourselves. In this fifth message of our Identity in Christ series, Pastor Marco Guzmán explores the biblical truth of justification by faith and what it means to stand before God forgiven, accepted, and declared righteous through Christ. Through Scripture, we discover that Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live and took upon Himself the judgment our sins deserved. Because of His finished work, those who trust in Him are declared righteous before God. IN THIS SERMON, WE EXPLORE: • Why our good works cannot make us righteous before God • What it means to be justified by faith • How Christ took our sin and gave us His righteousness • Why our past failures do not define our identity • How God's grace transforms the way we live KEY SCRIPTURE: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (NIV) Our hope is not in what we have accomplished, but in what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us. You don't have to earn what Christ has already secured. Your righteousness is found in Him. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FIRST BAPTIST COMMUNITY CHURCH Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico Pastor Marco Guzmán Join us as we grow together in God's Word and discover who we are in Jesus Christ.
