Written around 600 BC, as Judah sank into violence and injustice, it opens with a question many of us have asked: “How long, O LORD, must I call for help but You do not hear?” (1:2). God’s answer is harder than the question: He is raising up Babylon, a nation more ruthless still, to bring judgment. Habakkuk climbs his watchtower and waits. The reply that comes changes history: “the righteous will live by faith” (2:4), the line Paul would later build Romans and Galatians on. Pride will fall, and “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea” (2:14). The book ends in a song. Nothing around Habakkuk has changed, but he has: “Though the fig tree does not bud… yet I will exult in the LORD; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!” (3:17-18). From complaint to confidence, it’s a three-chapter journey for anyone still waiting on God. Chapter Breakdown Habakkuk 1: How Long, O LORD? Habakkuk cries out over Judah’s violence, and God answers that He is raising up Babylon to judge them. Habakkuk 2: The Righteous Will Live by Faith God tells Habakkuk to wait for the vision. The proud will fall, but “the righteous will live by faith” (2:4). Habakkuk 3: Yet I Will Rejoice Habakkuk’s prayer-song. With nothing changed around him, he chooses joy in the God of his salvation. ---------------- ❓ FAQs Is it AI? Yes - the music is AI generated. But the family behind Rhythm & Bible are musicians and Bible teachers. 📖 Bible Translation: We use the BSB — the Berean Standard Bible. Available on most Bible apps. Think modern word-for-word translation that reads like the ESV 🌱 How'd you start? This is a channel for our family first. We wanted our children to love and learn the Word — we started bringing Scripture into the musical genres we already loved. What began as a family mission became a channel. 🎯 The Goal: To make the Word of God — and theological and devotional resources — accessible through music. ----- Timestamps: 00:00 Chapter 1 : 1-11 01:50 Chapter 1 : 12-17 03:23 Chapter 2 : 1-8 04:42 Chapter 2 : 9-20 06:48 Chapter 3 : 1-11 08:33 Chapter 3 : 12-19
