From crispy fried corn and golden corn cakes to a giant pan of freshly popped popcorn, this peaceful day is full of simple cooking and little surprises. But today is about more than just food. I pack the freshly made popcorn into boxes and bring it to a mountain primary school to share with the children. Seeing their happy smiles makes this simple moment truly special. After returning to my forest farm, I share some popcorn with my dogs and feed corn to my chickens, pigs, ducks, and other farm animals. As evening arrives, I prepare a simple dinner with fried corn, homemade corn cakes, and stir-fried pork with tender young corn cobs. Life in the forest is made up of simple work, fresh food, and meaningful moments. Sometimes, sharing a little happiness with others is the most rewarding part of the day.
