Back to School With Autism: Helping Our Kids Through the Transition

Back to school can bring excitement, but for many autistic children and their families, it can also bring some very real challenges. After weeks of summer routines, later mornings, familiar environments and more flexibility, returning to school can mean suddenly adjusting to new schedules, new teachers, different expectations, sensory demands and a lot of change all at once.
