Mission: Impossible - Paralia Protocol
The mission, should I choose to accept it (which I did, because the app had $4 left on it): speedrun the waterfront like an outlaw, riding a Lime scooter from the Thessaloniki Concert Hall all the way to Aristotelous Square at speeds that technically qualify as "excessive for a grown adult." Armed with zero training, no helmet, and the exact mindset of a 10-year-old who just drank three juice boxes, I set off down the sunny autumn walkway to cause absolute lighthearted mayhem.
Starting at the Concert Hall where I immediately struggled with the kickstand, I blitzed down the Paralia, engaging in a high-stakes game of chicken with a flock of completely unfazed pigeons (spoiler: the pigeons won). As I zoomed past, I caught sight of the pirate ships floating in the harbor, which immediately sparked a full-blown existential crisis about how ridiculously cool it would be to abandon modern society, buy an eyepatch, and become a swashbuckling pirate captain on the Aegean Sea. I shook off the nautical daydream just in time to stare up at the massive Alexander the Great statue, wondering if the king himself ever felt the raw, unfiltered adrenaline of 12 miles per hour on a tiny electric deck. Gazing up at the historic White Tower, I paused for a split second to question all my life choices and ponder whether it was finally time to grow up and get a real hobby, but the inner 10-year-old prevailed. Realizing I was living entirely in my own personal Matrix, I hit the throttle and executed an illegal imaginary drift right into the heart of Aristotelous Square—accidentally triggering a stray confetti cannon and taking a grand bow for a confused crowd that was mostly just waiting for the bus. Did I look ridiculous? Absolutely. Did I question my entire existence mid-ride? 100%. But all in all, I had a fantastic time on my rogue two-wheeled odyssey.
