The room is noisy. The air conditioning doesn't work. But you say nothing... because you don't know how to ask?
In this slow English conversation for beginners, Ink and Ivy show you how to check in and ask for what you need at the hotel in English, short and polite.
At the hotel, nobody asks you the questions. You need to ask. In this English podcast episode, Ink shows you three simple tools: check in with two sentences, ask with "Could I...?" or "I'd like...", and say the problem, then the request. Ivy remembers a very hot hotel room (and eight towels), Ink tells his "pajama" story with the wrong room number, and then they practice a real check-in at the front desk: first the wrong way, then the right way.
Listen, follow the conversation, and answer out loud when it is your turn.
📌 In this episode, you'll practice:
✓ Hotel words: reservation, front desk, key card, room number, floor, elevator, Wi-Fi password, late check-out
✓ How to check in with two sentences: "I have a reservation. My name is ___."
✓ Polite requests with "Could I...?" and "I'd like..." (and why "I want" sounds too strong)
✓ How to say a problem: "The air conditioning doesn't work. Could you help me, please?"
✓ Room numbers that sound the same: "two forty" or "two fourteen"?
✓ A call to the front desk, breakfast time, a late check-out and a key card that doesn't work
