Someone asks "How are you?" and your answer is one word: "Busy." And then silence? In this slow English conversation, Ink and Ivy show you how to talk about your time in English and stop saying "I'm busy." You don't need to be a very organized person to talk about your time. Ink shows you three simple tools: say what you are busy with, give a short and honest reason, and change "later" to a real time. Ivy tries them at the office with Mark, her manager, and a very important sales report, and then with her mother, her friends and her own English practice. Listen, follow the conversation, and answer out loud when it is your turn. In this episode, you'll practice: ✓ Saying what you are busy with: I'm busy with a big project at work ✓ Talking about your time: I spend two hours on emails. It takes me twenty minutes to get to work. ✓ Short, honest reasons: I got distracted. I ran out of time. I need more time. ✓ Changing "later" to a real time: I'll do it at six. I can finish it by Friday. ✓ Useful words: free time, waste time, save time, put off, deadline, on time, late, to-do list, take a break ✓ Answering out loud in short practice moments Perfect for: • A2-B1 English learners • Learners who always answer "Busy." and then the conversation stops • Anyone who wants easy English listening and speaking practice about work and everyday life How to use this episode: Listen once without stopping. Listen again and answer Ink and Ivy out loud. Don't worry about understanding every word. Focus on the conversation and keep going. YOUR TURN: What do you want to finish today? Complete this sentence: "Today, I want to finish ____." Then add a real time: at five, by Friday, after lunch. Write your answer in the comments - even one simple sentence is enough. ABOUT MR. & MRS.
