Racing My Specialized Diverge E5 Elite for the First Time | Meramec Gravel 50K

Meramec Gravel 50K — my first race on the Specialized Diverge E5! This one was a challenge from the start. I took on 35 miles of gravel and 3,000+ feet of climbing during a heat advisory, and things definitely didn’t go perfectly. Along the way I had to backtrack a mile to catch a runaway water bottle, witnessed a pretty nasty crash, and got a good reminder that gravel racing can throw just about anything at you. This was also the first real test for a few new pieces of gear: Specialized Diverge E5 — first race/event on the new bike Osprey bike bags — first ride with the new setup Specialized Tracer 50mm tires — first time putting them through a race Heat advisory + 35 miles + 3,000+ ft of climbing — because apparently I like making things difficult Come along for the ride and see how the Diverge handled its first gravel race!
