A Salceda ➔ Santiago de Compostela

From complete disbelief when I first heard about this route—“Who in their right mind would pay money to suffer like this?”—to taking a leap of faith, booking a flight, and embarking on this journey.
This day has finally arrived.
Standing in front of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, every single memory came flooding back. It turns out that everything experienced along the way—the good and the bad—was truly "all for the best."
Grateful for this journey, and deeply thankful to every one of you who accompanied me all the way to the finish line from the other side of the screen.
📌 Camino Walk Summary
Stage: Camino Francés | Final Stage
Route: A Salceda ➔ Santiago de Compostela
Distance: Approximately 28.0 km
Terrain: The epic grand finale of the Camino Francés! Leaving A Salceda, the trail winds through the final fragrant eucalyptus forests and gentle rolling hills of Galicia, passing near the Santiago airport and Lavacolla (where pilgrims historically cleansed themselves before arrival). You then reach the symbolic Monte do Gozo (Mount of Joy) for your very first glimpse of the Cathedral's spires. The walk concludes through the vibrant stone streets of the old town, leading directly onto the majestic Plaza del Obradoiro.
