This day has finally arrived. Standing in front of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, every single memory came flooding back. It turns out that everything experienced along the way—the good and the bad—was truly "all for the best." Leaving A Salceda, the trail winds through the final fragrant eucalyptus forests and gentle rolling hills of Galicia, passing near the Santiago airport and Lavacolla (where pilgrims historically cleansed themselves before arrival). You then reach the symbolic Monte do Gozo (Mount of Joy) for your very first glimpse of the Cathedral's spires.
