A fire-gutted cabin burns beneath the southern sky as the sheriff kicks through the door looking for a hanging and a final revenge.
The outlaw refuses to surrender, gripping his rifle as smoke fills the room and the flames climb higher. Two shotgun blasts tear through the cabin before a dozen rifles answer with thunder, turning the final stand into a legend.
Blood runs into the cypress mud as the outlaw meets his end in Tennessee, leaving nothing behind but ashes, crimson water, and the memory of a man who refused to kneel.

Roof caving in from a fire-gutted beam,
Waking up the dead from a fevered swamp dream.
Smoke stinging heavy in my bloodshot eyes,
Watching as the ash fills the southern skies.
The sheriff kicked the door off its rusted iron hinge,
Looking for a hanging and a quick revenge.
I didn't drop my rifle and I didn't say a prayer,
Just pulled both hammers back in the burning air.
Swamp-water resolution in a hail of fire!
Climbing up the ladder to a burning pyre!
No surrender given and no quarter found,
An outlaw going down to the sacred ground!
Swamp-water resolution in a hail of fire!
Climbing up the ladder to a burning pyre!
No surrender given and no quarter found,
An outlaw going down to the sacred ground!
Two flashes lighting up the smoky wooden floor,
Sent the leading lawman crashing through the door.
Then a dozen rifles answered with a thunderous roar,
Leaving me a legend on the cabin floor.
My blood is running heavy in the cypress mud,
Washing out the sins in a crimson flood.
Let the buzzards circle over what is left of me,
I died a wild outlaw down in Tennessee.
Swamp-water resolution in a hail of fire!
Climbing up the ladder to a burning pyre!
No surrender given and no quarter found,
An outlaw going down to the sacred ground!
