The First Day They Had a Country | Camp Saxton 1863 | LIGHT & VALOR

On January 1, 1863, at Camp Saxton, South Carolina, a remarkable chapter of American history unfolded. As the Emancipation Proclamation was celebrated, the men of the 1st South Carolina Volunteers, one of the earliest Black regiments in the Union Army, stood together beneath the live oaks. Their courage, their families, and their hopes for freedom would become part of a much larger struggle. *The First Day They Had a Country* is a cinematic heavy-metal tribute to that historic moment, featuring *Room Enough in Heaven*. A story of freedom, faith, courage, sacrifice, and the determination to build a better future. 🎵 Music and cinematic production: LIGHT & VALOR 🎬 Historical dramatization: This film uses AI-generated music and reconstructed visuals inspired by real historical events.
