The Little Wooden Cross | Pete Walling Had a Heart | WWI Tribute

*The Little Wooden Cross — Pete Walling Had a Heart* Some soldiers are remembered for the battles they fought. Others are remembered for the kindness they carried into battle. During the First World War, Pete Walling was a cheerful British soldier whose humour and friendship brought comfort to his comrades, even in the shadow of the trenches. When tragedy struck, his fellow soldiers honoured him with something simple yet deeply meaningful: a little wooden cross. Inspired by Arthur Guy Empey's account in *Over the Top*, this cinematic musical tribute remembers Pete Walling and the countless ordinary men whose courage, friendship, and sacrifice must never be forgotten. *“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13 (KJV)* From LIGHT & VALOR — stories of courage, love, sacrifice, faith, and hope. *Historical note:* This film is a dramatized interpretation of a published First World War account. The cinematic illustrations are AI-generated artistic reconstructions, not authentic historical photographs or archival footage. Music and visuals were created with AI-assisted production tools.
