3x Swarm Traps from 1x Sheet of Plywood

Swarm Trap Cut Order These Cuts and Dimensions assume 15/32" Plywood. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Big Box Store *15/32* Plywood. You will have them do 4 rip cuts for you at the store. Have them cut at 18 1/2", then 18 3/4", then 18 3/4", then from the far side with the straight edge, cut at 23". This should leave a piece roughly 17" long. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When you get the 5x pieces home you want to cut A, B, and C the exact same. First thing is to straighten up and RIP! RIP CUTS A - 18 1/4" B - 18 1/4" C - 18 1/4" A, B, C LARGE SIDES 2x Cuts at 19 3/16" (2x per for 6 Total) A, B, C SMALL SIDES WIDTH Cut at 7 1/2" (1x per for 3 Total) A, B, C SMALL SIDES LENGTH Cut Sides at 17 1/2" (1x per for 3 total) A, B, C FRAME RAIL END CAPS Cut Frame Rails at 8 7/16" (1x per for 3 Total) A, B, C LID SHORT SIDES Cut Lid Short Sides at 9 1/2" x 1 1/2" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Piece D I think there are 21 cuts here total. Take your time!! 1 - Rip at 9 1/2" all the way down 2 - Rip the remaining piece 1 3/4" all the way down Now we are broken down into 3x pieces. 3 - From the 9 1/2" piece in Step 1 make the Lid Tops - Cut at 21 1/4" (Green) (2x Cuts for 2x pieces, I had to use my Miter Saw) 4 - From the two pieces that came out of step 2 - take the piece which is about 6 inches wide and make the Long Lid Sides into 2x pieces - Cut at 20 5/16" to give us 2x pieces. (Darker Purple) 5 - The 1 3/4" piece from Step 2 - Cut Frame Rails - 8 7/16" (Blue) (3x Cuts for 3x pieces) We are basically going to cut the rest of the remaining pieces at 1 1/2" 6 - Rip at 1 1/2" for LID SHORT SIDES (Light Purple) (3x Cuts for 3x Pieces) 7 - Rip at 1 1/2" for LID LONG SIDES (Darker Purple) (6x Cuts for 6x pieces) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ E 1 - Cut LID TOP (Green) off end at 9 1/2" (1x Cut) 2 - Cut TRAP BOTTOMS (Orange) at 18 1/4" (1x Cut) 3 - Cut SMALL SIDES (Red) at 17 1/2" (1x Cut) 4 - Cut at 7 1/2" for both Bottom and Sides you just made in Step 2 and Step 3 (MAKE SURE YOU ORIENT CORRECTLY or you may end up cutting the wrong way) (6x Cuts, 6 pieces) 5 - 21 1/4" - Come back and trim LID TOP to length.
