🎵 Greek Lyre - Abaton #lyremusic

Abaton (2021) is an original song composed by Theodore Koumartzis ‪@SEIKILO‬ on an acoustic-electric LUTHIEROS Lyre of the Sarcophagus, using a multi-effects pedal. For my version, I chose to play this piece on a purely acoustic lyre, completely free of electronics or effects—just as it could have been heard in the days of ancient Greece. The mysterious melody tells the story of a mystical city of ever-changing location, which most travelers never managed to catch a glimpse of it even if they have been wandering for years. Sir Thomas Bulfinch who saw the outline of Abaton when traveling through Scotland, mentioned that distant music was coming behind its gates. The city's name "ἄβατον" comes from the Greek letter "α" (meaning "not") and the word "βαίνω" (meaning "I go"), therefore translating to "inaccessible".
