Poland meets Africa

Film made by Machiel Spruijt about the African dancer and djembe-player from Senegal Ma-Lamine during his visit to Poland. He was special guest of the AFRICAN FESTIVAL in Nemoland Poland Saturday/Sunday July 15-16 2023. Nemoland celebrated her 25 years jubilee by traditional music, dance, expo and film from Senegal and Mali (north-west Africa). An introduction to a culture in which nature, spirituality and art are intertwined. Senegalese-born Ma-Lamine developed his musical talent in Africa, using traditional music and dance from Mali, Senegal and other countries. He performs at many festivals and concerts and leads workshops for groups. He is coming to Poland for the first time to open the Nemo African Centre. It offers a unique opportunity to experience African music and culture. He played together with FONIKE FARE, a local Polish music group from Jelenia Góra region playing African traditional music and with the Rybniczanki, a local Polish folklore women choir from Rybnica.
