Eb Clarinet POV: Fantasia on the Dargason from "Second Suite in F" by Gustav Holst

From the LPHS Wind Symphony's performance at the D-38/D-12 Combined Concert on 9/24/26. I love the march from Second Suite, but I'm not a big fan of Fantasia on the Dargason. Oh well, this was the first time I played with another Eb Clarinet, and this was the first time my friend Nathan has played Eb. Not gonna lie, he did incredible for his first time, and I am very impressed with how well we both did together. Shoutout to him for being the goat. About this concert- our school (Lewis Palmer High School), Palmer Ridge High School, and Cheyenne Mountain High School all perform a concert together every September. Each band plays their own set, and then all three of our bands combine to play one big, epic piece, conducted by a director from a University in Colorado. This year, it was Dr. Shanti Simon from CU Boulder, and she is truly one of my favorite directors ever. This (in my opinion) underwhelming piece (for a big combined band) was made so much more fun with Dr. Simon.
