Stay Wild — Grizzly Country (Official Audio) | Henry B. Colter

Henry B. Colter — "Stay Wild" (Official Video) From the album Montana Knows My Name (Continental Divide Records). Track six. A song about the animals that were here first and the men who were not: a friend named Jack taken by a grizzly one September, a magpie that stole the wedding cake topper, a horse named Whiskey who thought rivers were his to cross. It is not a song about winning. It is about the country still being wild after it has broken you, and what that costs to keep. Recorded plain: wood, wire, breath, and the sound of the room. Filmed in the real West — black timber and first gray light, burned hillside coming back green, a grizzly track pressed in river mud, sage flat under a bruised sky, and open country all the way to the snowline. Forever Cowboy, Singer of the Ages. #HenryBColter #WesternCountryGospel #Americana
