Stay Awake: Living Alert in a World Asleep - Sermon Only - September 20, 2026

Welcome to Orrville Christian Church! A sermon on spiritual warfare based on 1 Peter 5:6–10. The speaker explains that spiritual alertness begins with humility, casting anxiety on God, staying spiritually awake, resisting the devil, standing firm in faith, and remaining connected to Christian community. He addresses anxiety, repentance, distraction, and isolation, encourages seeking prayer and professional help, and challenges believers to model spiritual habits for their families. Key Points: Spiritual warfare is real; stay spiritually alert. Humility and surrender to God come before resisting the enemy. Cast your anxiety on God instead of carrying it alone. Asking for help is not a lack of faith. Avoid distraction, spiritual drowsiness, and isolation. Repent of sin rather than managing or excusing it. Stand firm in faith and God's truth. Don't fight spiritual battles alone; stay connected to Christian community. Live from Christ's victory rather than fighting for victory. Your spiritual habits and example influence those around you.
