MR.DEMETER live @ FNKI Soul Birmingham | Soulful House | Melodic/ Afro House | UK Tribal .

Soulful House, Afro House & UK Tribal DJ set recorded live at FNKI Soul, Birmingham. Minimal Tech and Tech House are my usual territory, so this one is a step outside it — the deeper, more soulful side of the spectrum. Most DJs probably wouldn’t post a mix like this because it isn’t super busy. But even with one person on the dance floor, your job is to get them dancing. Find the vibe they respond to and leave your ego at the door. Cocktail bars taught me that. And that’s exactly what happened. Two people on the floor turned into a little party of our own within 15 minutes. Considering I’m basically Billy Nobody in the soulful house scene, while headliners @maski_morii and @wez_whynt were upstairs, I think we did alright. Big thank you to Mikel Gallo for the invite and everyone at @fnkisoulbirmingham. This is the first entry in OUT OF THE BOX — a new playlist for everything outside my core sound.
