MOORING the Narrowboats In The DARK | STEAM Boat | Timings WRONG Ep 29

Two weeks at Tixall Wide… and somehow the adventure still isn’t over! I settle in at the beautiful Tixall Wide for a couple of weeks, enjoying the peace and scenery. My friend Mathew arrives in spectacular fashion aboard his steam powered boat Tixall, accompanied by his butty boat Keppel. It’s not every day you get to see a pair like this cruising the canal! But eventually, it’s time to leave Tixall Wide and continue the journey towards Penkridge. This time I’m joined by my friend Paul, and what should be a straightforward cruise soon turns into a bit of a race against the clock. Our timings are… shall we say, slightly optimistic, and before we know it daylight is disappearing fast. We eventually find ourselves mooring in the dark. And then things get even more interesting… Realising we're too close to a bridge hole Paul has to knock on to the boat behind me and ask if we can pull their boat forward 8-10ft so we can both fit it. Definitely not how we planned to end our days cruise. Join me for another chapter of life aboard the narrowboat.
