Our Car Broke Down 2 Days Before We Moved Abroad: Here's What We Did

Six years ago this week, two days before we were due to leave our island home and drive to Spain, our car broke down. Everything we'd planned for three months was about to fall apart. Jules had said her goodbyes. She knew that if we didn't get on that Sunday night ferry, we probably wouldn't go at all. So her very unreasonable demand was simple: go and find us a car. On a wet Friday afternoon, in the middle of Covid, with dealerships shutting up for the weekend, Andy stood in the pouring rain searching on his phone. He found one. There was just one small problem with the colour. This is the story of how we bought the trusty Disco and made that ferry. But more than that, it's about resourcefulness. We've all got the tools to get around almost any problem now, yet so many of us back out the moment life throws something at us. Here's the test we use: if your life depended on it, would you find a way? Of course you would. There's never a right time to change your life. If you're waiting for one, it isn't coming. ======================================== FEELING STUCK OVER 50? Download our free guide, "Stuck Over 50?
