Bandeja or Vibora? One of the most important decisions when playing an overhead shot in padel. In this episode, I’m training with professional padel coach Harman Schaefer, who has more than 30 years of experience in padel, to understand not only HOW to play the bandeja and vibora, but most importantly WHEN to choose each shot during a real match. We break down the difference between bandeja vs vibora, the positioning, preparation, decision-making and the most common mistakes players make when choosing their overhead. The bandeja is generally the more controlled option, helping you manage the opponent’s lob and maintain or recover your position at the net, while the vibora is a more aggressive overhead used to create pressure when you have the right position and enough time. Throughout the session, we are also assisted by Harman’s partner Boy Bronz, helping us recreate realistic situations and put everything into practice on court.
