Day 20 September 7 (Sunday)
Moab, UT to Marysvale, UT [227 miles]
We ran into another TAT group, Dave Brown and crew, in Green River, UT. He gave us a menacing laugh when we said we were going through Black Dragon Wash and Eagle Canyon.
The “Sag Wagon” with Mark’s Beta met us for a few minutes just before we started Black Dragon Wash.
Black Dragon Wash was in pretty good shape.
Eagle Canyon was little more washed and tougher but very scenic.
Third Bike Issue - Augie took a large rock to the skid plate and water pump cover, causing a bent drain plug and cracked cover.
The “Sag Wagon” came back to make a pick up and then had a full load to deliver to Augie’s dad’s house in Marysvale.
September 8 (Monday) - Marysvale, UT Unplanned rest day [0 miles]
Unexpected rest/maintenance day. We did extra miles to come straight to Marysvale dues to the bike issue.
Original plan was to replace the tires in Marysvale, but the tires from Oklahoma were holding so well everyone stayed with those tires.
Scrambled to find a replacement water pump cover and get it overnighted.
September 9 (Tuesday) - Marysvale, UT Maintenance day [0 miles]
Fifth bike Service - Completed oil change, cleaned air filters and other routine maintenance
Jason, Tony and Augie check valve clearance on their bikes. Mark’s bike is too new for that nonsense.
Mark’s Beta is dropped off here for transport to his home a couple hours away in St. George, UT. (“Sag Wagon” is unburdened from here on out).
