Days in the studio with Irena Posner (re-upload)

Due to technical issues with the first film, we had to re-upload it. But now it's perfectly synced and smoothly rolling! Our second film from Italy, and the first starring a stone carving sculptor. We spent two days with Irena Posner, a British artist living and working in Carrara, filming in what might be the coolest studio we've ever stepped into — right at the foot of the white marble mountains that once supplied Michelangelo. Irena holds an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art and has picked up honors along the way including the Gilbert Bayes Sculpture Award. She works between Carrara and London, carving stone directly, each piece led by a story or concept from the very start. Being in her studio, surrounded by half-finished forms and marble dust, inspired us enough to pick up a chisel ourselves. Long meals, river baths to wash off the Tuscan summer heat, local wine, and the kind of loose-tongued stories that only come out after a glass too many — this one has it all.
