She Becomes More

“She Becomes More” celebrates motherhood while remembering the woman within it. Each child and grandchild brings another piece to a growing picture of love. But a mother also needs rest, kindness, support, and room for her own dreams. She remains within that picture, with a story of her own. The artwork is based on a family photograph. From left to right are Nicolene Drodskie, my sister Martelize Drodskie, and Sumari Drodskie, holding baby Enzo Drodskie Cloete, my great-nephew. On Nicolene’s shoulder is a tattoo of the letter E, in memory of her youngest sister, Elain Drodskie, who passed away at just three months old. In spirit, Elain was there too—remembered and loved, still part of the family picture. “The picture keeps on growing With every piece she holds. But she remains within it— With a story of her own.” Lyrics by Gert Marx, with AI assistance in shaping the song. Music and vocals generated using Suno. Lyric video created by Martelize Drodskie.
