Turn a $6 Bag of Coffee Into a $60 Pour Over — Old Roaster's Method
You cannot drink it without sugar. It tastes like the bottom of an ashtray. A pound of ground coffee averaged $9.32 in July, the median specialty bag is running over eighteen dollars, and the second you start researching, it gets complicated and expensive. Here is the good news. There is a six-dollar bag of coffee on my counter right now, and most of what is wrong with it has nothing to do with the price.
It will not need a machine that costs more than your first car. It will not need a bag with a farmer's name on it and a tasting note that says jasmine. It will not need sugar, or a flavored creamer, or a pump of anything to hide behind. It does one thing. It stops a cheap bean from getting punished for being cheap.
